PHP (Personal Home Page) is one of the most popular scripting languages for creating web pages and web applications. It is an interpreted language, meaning it is read by a computer program (interpreter) in real time and does not require compilation - translation into machine code. It was created in 1994 by Rasmus Lerdorf and released in 1995, as an open source language. It is designed to create server-side supported scripts. In addition, it can be used from the command line in a terminal to process data.
PHP - the most popular scripting language
PHP provides scripts in text files. It is embedded in HTML or XHTML code, using tags appropriate for it, and the server interprets its syntax and returns it every time the website is refreshed. To analyze it, you need a suitable server. And so the Apache web server with a database is the AMP platform. On Windows it is referred to as WAMP, and on Linux it is referred to as Lamp. It is the dominant programming language and is estimated to support 3/4 of all websites in content management systems, email, customer databases or discussion forums, among others.
PHP's great popularity is also linked to the fact that it is the basis for the most popular CMS, WordPress. In addition, the high frequency of its use is due to the fact that it is one of the simpler programming languages. It is characterized by a relatively simple and understandable syntax, transparently defined variables and is a fully free and powerful tool. It offers similar capabilities to C++ and Java, but unlike them, the programmer can use variable typing, which makes work much faster and easier. PHP allows you to generate reports in the most popular office programs: Excel, Power Point, Word or PDF. Due to the growth of interdisciplinary teams working on websites or web applications, it is increasingly being taught to graphic designers, SEOs and even copywriters, as the relatively low entry threshold allows for comprehensive communication and more efficient work with modern technologies. PHP-based sites are no problem to find hosting and are compatible with AJAX technology, enabling the construction of dynamic sites that allow interaction with the user.
